OUR STORY

We started in the vintage instrument business when Albert System clarinets were still being played and Big Bands were the “Pop Music” of the time. The buses of traveling bands used to stop at our door when they came through town looking for that old Selmer clarinet or New York Bach mouthpiece. In those days, there were only a few of us in the shop atMusicians’ Repair Service but we loved the pea shooters and the Chu-Berry’s.

We’ve grown up since the 40’s with many more repair technicians; and being within a morning’s drive of most of the factories, “Vintage Horns from the Heartland” thrived. Almost daily, someone walks in with that old trumpet to fix or is simply cleaning out the closet. Vintage musical instruments and their accessories add the spice to the other modern line of saxes and french horns that make up our day in downtown Indianapolis.
