York Feather Touch Cornet
Price:
$800.00
Manufacturer Part #:
FEATHER TOUCH
Features:
This York Feather Touch Master cornet was made in about 1951 according to its serial number (170xxx) and is in very good condition. The lacquer is original, but there is a bit of lacquer wear in the expected places (please see pictures). Overall this instrument has been cared for and maintained very well. The slides all pull nicely, and the "feather touch" valves work very well. This instrument has been run through our professional brasswind shop to put it into top playing condition. The case is not original to the horn, but it's a very well constructed wood case that's in very good condition. The latches, hinges and handle all work just as they should. Feather Touch valves were a design patented by York's owner/inventor, etc. Alfred (Bill) Johnson in 1933. The main difference from regular valves is that the springs are on top of the valves and pull them up, rather than pushing them up from the bottom. This gives the valves an incredibly light and fast action. York Feather Touch Masters are difficult to come by, especially in such good condition. Make this one yours today!
